What Exactly Are Custom Orthotics?

Say Goodbye to Your Pain

One day you’re on a run and your feet are feeling pretty happy, but come the next day and you are experiencing the sudden onset of pain. Your feet could very well be telling you something about the pain in your back, knees, hips, or  ankles.  It’s important to listen to these signs and take action if you are feeling discomfort, as they can be the tell-tale signs that your feet may need further support. Custom orthotic inserts may just be the support your feet need to keep your body happy and healthy so you can keep enjoying your daily walks, runs, or dances pain free!

What to know about Orthotics

Orthotics are ‘inserts’ or ‘insoles’ that go into your shoe for comfort and support. They can stabilize your posture, and help alleviate pain associated with your feet, ankles, back, knees, and hips.

Orthotics are typically made out of foam, gel, or vinyl and are designed to fit the average foot. They are a great addition to any activity and can comfortably and unnoticeably fit into most shoes, including:

  • Sneakers
  • Heels
  • Work Boots
  • Flats

Orthotic Insoles help support and stabilize the area of your foot that can be linked too:

  • Foot pain
  • Knee pain
  • Back pain
  • Bunions
  • High or Low arches
  • Achilles pain
  • Heel pain
  • Flat feet
  • Shin Splints
  • And many more!

So what are ‘Custom’ Orthotic Insoles?

Are your store bought insoles not really helping you out? Well, Custom orthotic inserts can help your body feel at its best! They are insoles that are made just for you and your feet. They are inspired by your lifestyle, activity, job, condition, and the kind of shoe you wear. Each person’s foot, needs, and lifestyles are different so your insert should be designed specifically to fit your needs.

Sure, you can get over the counter insoles, but the truth is, insoles and custom fit orthotics are not made equally. Our feet are the foundation of our bodies and sometimes need special attention. A misshaped insole can actually harm or worsen someone’s condition.  Luckily! All we do is Custom Orthotics. Not only do we custom mold, we remedy your foot by correcting the alignment with supportive modifications based on our formula. By correctly aligning your heel position and adjusting your arch shape, we are able to prevent pain, prevent the progression of deformities, and help to avoid surgical correction.

Creating Custom Insoles with Arcus Custom Orthotics

Creating custom fit orthotics with Arcus Orthotics is simple and easy! First, you will need to create a profile using this link! https://arcuscustomorthotics.com/create-profile/

The link will take you to a form that Arcus has designed to help us understand your foot and lifestyle profile. When answering these questions, it is important to ask yourself:

  • “Where do I work? Do I stand or walk all day? Do I sit at a desk all day?”
  • “What are my hobbies? Do I run or dance? Do I go for hikes or would I rather be sitting?”
  • “What kind of shoes do I wear? Do I wear sneakers, heels, work boots, or flats? Are they comfortable to wear or do they feel painful?”

We will then ask you about your specific condition, if you have one. No diagnosis? Don’t worry! We will access your mold for possible pressure and pain areas as well as overall alignment. We will ask you about your shoe size, and to take photos of your feet from a few angles.

After submitting your profile, we will send you a kit for a fun process where you get to take a mold of your foot!  Within two weeks of sending in your mold, you will receive your new custom fit orthotic insoles and start your journey to comfort and ease! Happy Boogying to your feet!
